What happens if I have lost a book?

I have a book that I borrowed, but I seem to have lost it. What do I need to do now?

Answer

If you lose a book that you have borrowed from the library, you will have to pay to replace it. This must be done before you can complete any clearance from the university.

You first need to notify the library staff (either in-person, via email at libse@ku.ac.ae or by using the AskUs chat service).

The librarians will provide you with an invoice for the item, which will be the current price of the book, plus a 50 AED service charge. You can then take this invoice to the Finance Department on the First Floor of the Habshan Building and pay the fee. The Finance Department will certify your payment by stamping the invoice.

You will then need to show the library the payment certification, either in-person or by scanning the document and emailing us at libse@ku.ac.ae, and then your library account will be cleared.
